Heat Press Guide

DIGITAL GRAFX — HEAT PRESS QUICK REFERENCE CARD

STANDARD SETTINGS

  • 350–365°F

  • 60–75 seconds

  • Light to light‑medium pressure

  • Darker colors or larger pieces may require more heat/time.

TYPICAL WORKING SETUP

  • 355–365°F for 60 seconds

  • Light pressure (~20 lbs)

  • Ideal for auto plates & standard blanks.

LARGE PANELS (24" × 36")

  • 390°F for 60 seconds

  • Higher pressure (24–30 lbs)

  • Ensure full, even contact.

NEW & IMPROVED PROCEDURE

Two‑Sided Blanks & Small Items

SETTINGS

  • 385°F (400°F max)

  • 30 seconds press + 30 seconds remain closed

  • VERY light pressure

  • Add fleece to bottom platen

  • Press both sides at once or individually *see set up below

COOLING

  • Allow item to fully cool before pressing the second side.

MATERIAL SETUP

Transfer & Blank Positioning

  • White side:

    • Transfer on bottom, facing up

    • Blank placed white side down on transfer

  • Brushed aluminum / second white side (for pressing both sides at once):

    • Transfer on top, facing down

    • Blank positioned beneath it

  • Clean blank with alcohol before pressing.

Cover Sheet

  • Light–medium weight paper covering entire item.

Optional Pre‑Press

  • 5–10 seconds to remove moisture.

Max Press Time

  • Do not exceed 60–75 seconds for full‑cycle setups

Note: The above information has produced consistent fine art quality results using an Epson printer and Epson Inks. Other inks and paper can create varying results.
